Born in 1978, Nika Jorjaneli is a Georgian poet and translator. He holds a master’s degree in German Language and Literature, and worked as a German teacher for several years at a Tbilisi high school. In 2008, he taught the Georgian language at the Moscow State University of Linguistics. Jorjaneli has authored four poetry collections and much of his work can be found in anthologies of modern Georgian poetry. His work has also been translated into English, German, French, Russian, Italian and Dutch. He participated in the BIPVAL International Biennale of Poets (Paris, France 2008) and regularly takes part in the annual International Poetry Festival Kievskye Lavry (Kiev, Ukraine). In 2008, he won the Commonwealth of Debuts International Poetry Prize in Moscow.
