Kato Javakhishvili: Surrealist Icons

Born 3 May 1979 in Tbilisi, Georgia. A poet and a publicist, Javakhishvili is the author of five poetry collections (From You to Me, 2008, Saari; On the Left, 2010, Saunje; Pupa, 2011, Saunje; Deputy Name, 2012, Saunje; A Lullaby for Men, 2015, Intelekti,) and essays (Two Cups, 2015, Intelekti). She has been nominated for or won a number of literary competitions. Her poems have been translated into English, German, Slovak, Lithuanian and Russian, and have been included in various anthologies and almanacs. Javakhishvili’s poetry is distinctive with ‘surrealist icons and new, reformative expression’.
