Giorgi Kekelidze: You Placed Your Lashes on Mine

Giorgi Kekelidze is a Georgian poet, essayist and the founder of the first Georgian digital library lib.ge. He has been serving as the General Director of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia since March 2012.
Born in Ozurgeti, Giorgi Kekelidze graduated from the Department of Philology at Tbilisi State University with master's degree in the humanities. From 2006 to 2008, he worked at the penal institution of Rustavi as a teacher of Georgian language and literature. In 2009, he started hosting literary criticism programs at various radio stations and in 2010, he became a literary columnist for the popular Tabula magazine. He teaches classical literature at the Free University of Tbilisi. He has been hosting the Interpretation literary show on the Akhali Arkhi television channel since 2012.

Kekelidze’s poems are sheer anthems of humanism and sensibility. His book The Gurian Diaries is an original, outstanding work between fiction and memoir, describing the simple, cheerful lives of people from Kekelidze’s homeland – the Guria region of Georgia.
